[Blindtlk] Telephone

Hi Diane. If you have unexplained charges, I'd use that AT&T phone and dial
611 for an explanation. If your bills aren't what you contracted for, be
your own best advocate.

Wow Guys! It looks like I didn't do my homework. I got the KNFB reader as a
very generous gift along with my NFB scholarship last year. I simply could
not wait to get it activated and have a totally accessible phone, This phone
could only be activated through AT&T or Key Mobile. so we broke a contract
with Verizon and now I owe them my next born child LOL .

Well, we went with AT&T, and there rates are ridiculous. We are paying
almost double what we paid Verizon, they have all these hidden charges, and
not once have we paid the amount that they told us our bill would be

Even on their printed statement, they have this area of their bill that is
labeled other charges. It doesn't specify what those charges are, it just
tacks them on there. But... Miss Impatient, I just couldn't wait. LOL I sure
wish this subject could have come up 6 months ago.

The Haven has been positively reviewed and mentioned in a number of places.
Apparently it is pretty successful. I have seen nothing anywhere abou5t a
"Gusto" that doesn't mean it isn't accessible, bu5t who knows. Nuance
produces test to speech software, such as Eloquence that JAWS and others
use, or Vocalizer in the Stream. They also develop the Talks screen reader
used on various phones.
So, just telling you Nuance wouldn't necessarily indicate whether or not a
phone is accessible.
