    Thanks Diane.
It's been taken care of.
And yes, I do have JAWS.

Hi Nikki,

My understanding is that you have Jaws. If so, when you come to a "combo
box" try hitting the spacebar. You should hear a click, and then it should
allow you to arrow down through the options until you see your scanner
listed. You should then be able to press enter, and the given choice should
be selected.

Brian, I did that and it gave me the same dialog box "combo box:
scanner" and I tabbed once, and it said, "combo box: no scanner."
I don't know how to fix that.

Ron, if you read my post on what kind of scanner I have, it might help.
Open Book was bought for me by my DOHRS counselor. She had it mailed to my
house and I guess she just expected me to know what I was doing. Not fair to
me at all.
I told her I have a scanner because someone at FS told me that I didn't need
the pearl.
I'm new to this stuff.
Thanks for all your help.
Blessings to you all.

Hi Niki, Who sold it to you?
call them or Freedom Scientific.
Did someone come to your place and set things up for you?
That's why I say call them.
You should always turn your scanner on before loading Openbook.
If in the future, you are using Openbook to read files you have saved, you
will need to close Openbook and restart again if your scanner hadn't been
turned on before starting your session with Openbook.
My K1000 says something like "no scanner" or "scanner not recognised," so I
close K1000 make sure the scanner is on, then restart. Problem solved.
You may need to have Windows search the internet for your drivers, if they
haven't already been installed. You may need to know the make and model of
your scanner to do this. I don't feel confident in telling you how to do
this, so that's better left to someone else.

Ron
