[Blindtlk] History of the NFB

I have heard that the ACB don't help their members go to conventions like
the NFB does.

I will always be grateful to the NFB for helping me get to my first state
and national conventions.

I guess it is up to the organizations.

Subject: [Blindtlk] History of the NFB

I just spoke to a friend of mine, who is in Reno at the ACB Convention.

We just celebrated back on July 6th, the 100th birthday of our founder, now
I am not trying to start anything this is my own opinion here.

When if first went looking for help and mentoring between the 2
organizations, there was and still is pages and pages of blasting the NFB on
the ACB website, now I have read the history between the 2, but they are now
celebrating there 50th Anniversary in Reno, now without Jacobus tenBroek,
there would not be an ACB organization.

Now, my friend told me which this person doesn't agree with either is, they
took a whole session of their convention just to bash us.

My question is why?

I know I will get many different reasons.

Myself I am not prejudiced against anyone, I don't bark at someone because
they are with the ACB.

I think this stuff starts at home, 50 years is a long time to bark. I mean
we have in government both democrats and republicans, plus all the other
parties, but in the long run many of them are friends and try to do good, we
don't bash them.

Just my own grips.

That is why I went to the NFB if someone is so hateful on there website and
NFB had nothing accept letting people know what happened.

It's on the website. I read it yesterday. It's mostly historical
information about the early days of the N.F.B. It's very interesting!

  Hi Mary,

Did the July Monitor come out? For this year?

  Dear All;

Read the July Monitor if you want to know the
  history. You can
also read James Omvig's book and listen to Dr. Jernigan's old
  banquet
speeches. I recall a lot of protests at sheltered shops in the
  1970's.
I'll just say this: if we allow this bill to become law, we'll
  have gone
  many, many years backwards!

  Sincerely,

  Mary L. McGee
