[Blindtlk] Convention in Orlando for 5 years

I think attendance was up because we've never been to Orlando before, and
obviously Orlando is a prime destination for vacationers... Despite the July
heat. It was the same in New Orleans, and Anaheim.
Some people just aren't keen to soak up their limited vacation time and
dollars to return to the same city over and over again -- especially when it
isn't, shall we say, a preferred tourist destination. Dallas just ain't
that interesting, I'm sorry, and with all due apologies to the Texas
affiliate!
I think also that a lot more family members and friends come along for the
ride when we go to places like Orlando -- which will also drive up the
registration numbers. We were still a good 600 shy in Orlando of the
numbers we had in New Orleans.

no that is not true, like is said in my post that should come through soon,
we need to bring it to the floor of the convention, and if it is voted and
passed then it needs to be changed.
Many of us, and yes also me, just because I have my own business doesn't
mean I am wealthy, by all means no!
The NFB wants to make sure that the rates are affordable for everyone who
wants to attend. This was one of the largest convention since Anaheim I am
told, because so many could attend.
Also, remember when flying as well, some had to do 1 stop to get to Orlando,
it is a major hub in the airport industry, if we were to go to another
location that also has to be looked into.
Take for example: West Virginia (just did airfare for some from NY to
Clarksberg) they have to fly out of NY to DC and then from DC to Clarksberg,
popped into my head, Some people may not be able to get to in the middle of
the country or not near a major airport to fly out of, some live near a
small airport, and cannot get to a larger one to go direct or non-stop. Some
don't want to go to another gate, etc.
This has to be thought of ahead of time, and not just the location.
But again, to have this changed, they as a majority we need to let them know
what we want.

Hi,
because national thinks nobody wants to be away at that time and the hotel
rates are cheaper and what they want is the rule.
