[Blindtlk] Convention in Orlando for 5 years

Bryan,
I think this message is a bit sarcastic and cynical. At the same time
there is a lot of truth in it! The NFB does get really great hotel rates
because of the time we have our convention. In Orlando, we stayed at a
5-star resort hotel with rack rates that approach $200/night for $63/night.
One reason the hotels are willing to negotiate this rate is because they
fill up their hotel (this year almost three hotels) at a time when they are
traditionally empty. Our rates are the envy of all! Check out the rates of a
Days Inn or Motel 6 and you will most likely find them to be comparable to
our 5-star hotel rates! Of course, you could always attend the other group's
convention the following week and pay more tthan $20 more per night. This is
because they don't have the numbers we have nor the week we have!
Fraternally yours,
Marion Gwizdala
