[Blindtlk] spin classes

Hi Bernadette,

I'm afraid I won't be any help, but I would love it if someone could explain to me exactly what this is. I was checking out the local services and resources on the website of a gym near me, and I saw they had a spinning room. I had to do a double take on that one. Couldn't imagine what that might be. No one else that I have asked seems to know either. What is this "spinning?"

I saw that, and I got these pictures in my head of people going in to this room and spinning around the way little kids do. LOL. I couldn't imagine what it was.

Subject: [Blindtlk] spin classes

Hey everyone,
I've been looking for a new way to get into better shape--and since
there's been some talk of excersize on here, I thought I'd pose this question.
I've been investigating spin classes, because I hear it's a vigorous
workout and I think I'd enjoy it. My question is, does anyone know how
blind-friendly spinn classes are? I'd love to be able to do the video
classes from home as opposed to going to a gym for them, but I can't
afford a spin bike, nor do I have the room for one at the moment.
I'm totally blind, so I'm primarily interested in getting feedback from
totally blind spinners because that would more accurately gauge the
challenges for me, but any feedback at all would be apreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Bernadetta
