[Blindtlk] spin classes

Good morning Diane,
As I stated in earlier postings, I was a bodybuilder and still do live the
lifestyle. I spent and still do spend thousands of hours in the gym. I'll
tell you about my first exposure to spinning. I had good sight at this
time. I would be having a fairly vigorous and serious workout lifting
weights and see twenty or so women go in to a workout room in the back of
the gym to do a spinning class. I heard pumping music coming from this room
but didnt pay much attention to it. Then one day a lady friend invited me
to join the group. so I went in this room where there were about 25 bikes
with variable resistance controls designed for taking a pounding. An
instructor was on the bike in front of the room facing the group. Then the
pounding music began and she started yelling instructions like moderate pace
at first. But over the next hour she had us increasing resistance, going as
fast as we could go, standing on the pedals and pumping with maximum
resistance, and doing intervals where we would go as fast as we could for
thirty seconds and come down to a moderate pace for thirty seconds. The
class was a very high energy class. I only made it for half an hour and
crawled out of the room after that time. I think the women laughed at
me...LOL. A good instructor full of energy makes the class. It was one of
the best cardio workouts Ive ever had.
