Yes, I would like the highlights posted as I'm not going to convention
either.

Oh yeah, my mom did that at the Philadelphia national convention
in 2001, when I was only three and wasn't really using a cane all
that much, or that is, very well. Are the instructors blind?
Have fun at convention! Wish I could join you, but I'll be
listening to the stream! By the way, would everyone on this list
who isn't going to convention like me to post the highlights here
for you?

There is also a cane walk/instruction seminar available for kids
and
parents. I'm remembering that it is a part of the National
Association of Parents with Blind Children events and is usually
in the
morning. typically there is a breif introductory segment in a
lecture
format, then kids and parents are paired up with volunteer
instructors
to explore the hotel while learning cane travel skills.
Participants
wear sleepshades during the event. There are ooddles of canes
available to use if you don't have one, want to try something
different
or the instructor would like you to try a different cane.
Have fun at convention!

I know Independence Market will be at the convention. My
daughter really
wants to try a NFB straight over the folding heavy aluminum
cane her O&M
instructor gave her. Does anyone know if they normally have a
good
selection? I keep telling her we will get her a new one at
convention and
now I am concerned there isn't going to be any there. Its our
first
convention and we are very excited
