[Blindtlk] What Do You Do when There's No Transportation?

For this particular example, the walk from the closest drop-off
location includes walking on the side of a very busy road with no
sidewalk and bushes that block walking in the grass. It also includes
walking through a short industrial area under a bridge that seemed
very scary to me when I walked it with a friend. Also, I h ad to take
multiple rests, and nearly didn't make it as I have an additional
disability that hinders me with chronic pain, fatigue, and poor
balance. I would not be able to make this walk without a sighted guide
to lead me, as I did the one time, and I barely made it that time.

But I meant in general, what do people do when there isn't public
transportation available? I was hoping for a discussion rather than
advice on this particular one. I am currently getting a ride to the
center and am working on back-ups. But it's not an easy task, and I
was h oping we could discuss what others do in such situations.
