[Blindtlk] IPads?

Hi Penny,

Yes, that might be a problem. Does Abby (I believe that's your
daughter's name) have a notetaker, like a BrailleNote or a
PacMate? If so, she can use her notetaker as a refreshable
Braille display for her iPad by connecting the two devices via
bluetooth. By the way, if she has any questions
about technology or anything else related to being a blind
student, I would be happy to help and support her! I'm 13, a few
years older than her, so I may be able to answer some of her
questions. She can email me at dotkid.nusbaum at gmail.com. You
and/or her can also friend me on Facebook. Search for
Christopher Nusbaum, or call me on Skype at christpher.nusbaum3.
The NABS (National Association of Blind Students) list is also a
great resource. To subscribe, go to nfbnet.org. Please feel
free to contact me and/or the lists. Hope this helps!

Chris

My daughter has one (she is 7) The only issue i have is finding
fun apps for
a 7 year old that are voice over compatible. I am hoping to get
my hands on
a refreshable braille display for her and using it with the new
Bookshare
app. .

There are a lot of really useful applications out there.

 Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has begun playing with and using the
IPads. They
intrigue me, but I'd like to hear from other folks. What is
your
 experience
 with them?

 Is anyone teaching them?

 Jim
