  Hi Bryan,

Are you using the Sampsung Haven? If not, what other Sampsung are
you using? By the way, Mike is correct; you can't surf the Web
using My Verizon on the Sampsung Haven; the one drawback I've
seen with my Haven. However, as anyone who has been on this list
for any longer than a few days and seen how much I contribute to
it can probably assume, I have found other ways to surf the Web
and check email and still keep my Haven! * Grin! Other than that,
the Haven is great for basic phone usage (calling, texting,
reminders, etc) and is totally accessible.

  hi,

it works great for just calls and texting.
i have to wait for the speech to respond to move on to the next
  letter/menu choice.
on the samsung haven, speech is included.

How is the Samsung working for you, what speech engine and what
  operating
    system?

In my case, when I make a call on my Iphone, the keypad stays
  exposed.
Now, when you have it set for touch typing, as I do, and you
  need for what
ever reason to generate a sustained tone, the trick then is to
  swipe the
screen until you hear the digit you wish, then, what you do is
  you double
tap and hold that place on the screen. This is because, as we
  Iphone
users know, with touch typing, you move one finger around the
  screen and,
when you hear the character you wish, lift your finger off and
  that
character will type in right away.

   Judy,

My husband would say that he can't make calls on the Iphone to
  save his
life. I don't have this issue, but it does all take practice.
  His
   thought is
that the Iphone is not really for making and taking phone calls,
  but
   all the
   other extra it does.

I've heard so much favorable press about the iPhone - does
  anyone on
   the
list who uses one find any drawbacks to using it, other than the
   learning
   curve?
