Yes, that's correct, at least with the Haven.

"The real problem of blindness is not the loss of eyesight. The
real problem is the misunderstanding and lack of education that

opportunity, blindness can be reduced to a mere physical

Except one can't surf the web using speech whereas it can be done
with
sight.

It all depends on which carrier you have. It sounds to me like
you want an iPhone, which is great! If you have Verizon and want
an accessible phone that isn't a smartphone, I would suggest the
Sampsung Haven. The phone is self-voicing, meaning that it has a
screen reader built into the phone and therefore is accessible
out of the box. All of the menus are accessible.

Subject: [Blindtlk] Would like to hear from cell phone users.

After years of using various Nokia devices with Talks, I'm
thinking about switching to something else, or at least, seeing
if there is anything better out there. I'm very impressed with
the iPhone and VoiceOver, but would like to hear how easy it is
to adapt to using the touch pad.

I'm not impressed with MobileSpeak voices, tried a phone using
that in a previous upgrade, and returned the phone and program.

I would like to hear from people about the pros and cons of the
phones and programs they are using, so I can make an informed
decision this next upgrade.

I am currently using Nokia's N96, but am not as happy with the
phone as I thought I would be. I have to replace the phone's
plastic back every so often, although I do love the Talks clarity
of eloquence speech.

Thanks in advance for all your advice and suggestions.

Judy Jones
