[Blindtlk] The Unfriendly Skies -- What happened?

Oh, you've had that happen too, have you? One really has to wonder when
that happens why the person doing it doesn't realize immediately how
undignified that feels. The cane is not a leash, or a tether, or a pole
attaching two people. I just gently grab it back and tell the person, "No,
that's okay, I'm fine." One of those situations where we ask the Lord to
please give us strength and patience.

Bonnie:

Another thing that annoys me is when I am walking beside a sighted family
member or friend and they grab the came because there are people coming the
other direction. The whole point of the cane is for it to find things. I
don't swing my cane with such force that I would hurt anyone, but they can't
help but grab my cane.

Sigh.......

Daniel

Those of us who are cane users feel the same way, Daniel. I won't let
anyone take my cane from me.

Well, I am sure a blind pilot could be instrument verified if the cokpit was
accessible. I am sure there could even be a way to land the thing.

When you say I can have my cane stored in fuselage, does that mean next to
me in my seat? If these people are so concerned about safety, I feel safer
with my cane at all times. My cane is like an American Express Card, I never
leave home without it.
