[Blindtlk] Zero or low gravity environments was RE: The Unfriendly Skies -- What happened?

Dear all,

Zero Gravity?
What are you guys smoking?

Using a guide dog in space would be most impractical.
For any long term space travel, some form of artificial gravity will be a
must.
The human body begins dropping out calcium due to the lack of gravity and
bone loss is a major issue.
A human space traveler on a long space flight will lose some much bone that
bones will break and he will be unable to stand or even use his arms.
For long space flights, we will need to design space craft that spin or roll
to use centrifugal force as a form of artificial gravity to help prevent
bone loss.
The Blind space traveler will need various forms of technology to help him
keep his orientation and direction as a guide dog or even a cane will be
nearly useless, on board the space craft, as I see it now. At least until
his feet are back on the ground.

I do have confidence in the enginenuity of my fellow blind brothers and
sisters, who I am sure will figure out a way to adapt and overcome as they
always have in the past.

David Evans, NFBF and GD Jack.
Retired Nuclear/Aerospace Materials Engineer
Builder of the Lunar Rovers and the F-117 Stealth Fighter.
