[Blindtlk] Walking down the aisle

Arielle,
I haven't been reading virtually everything here but I would think that when
you are walking up to meet your husband, and if you plan on walking with
your dad, you could have him put one of those cute new folding NFB canes in
his suit pocket. That might not be the time when you carry your flowers, but
if it is, you could take your dad's arm with one hand, (for many a
tradition, and with the other hand, you would be able to hold the bouquet.
Then, by the time you open that cane, it would be no big deal and perhaps
not even a reason to decorate it. You could open it when you were ready to
and if your dad will be wearing a suit, believe me, it would fit in the
pocket, pretty sure. I have one in my purse as a back up and it hardly takes
any space.

By the way, I have read many of your posts on the NOPBC list and I am so
impressed with your ability to speak your mind and yet be respectful and
kind. Keep up the good work and have a very wonderful wedding and much, much
more!

Warmly,
Bonnie Lucas

Hi all,

Thanks for your feedback! It's given me a lot more to think about. I totally
forgot about holding my bouquet, which pushes me a little in the no-cane
direction. We will have a wedding rehearsal the day before so I'll be able
to practice, and might just practice with and without the cane and then
decide which works better. I might also explore the idea of tying a ribbon
to the top of the cane that matches my flowers.

Best,
Arielle
