Good morning, everybody,

         While On the bus, I do indeed hold my stick over my shoulder 
and at a slant. People don't lean on it in the manner of those 
support rails.. Give it a try!
for today, Car If you are using a straight cane, and you are sitting, 
put the cane at a slant. It makes it less likely that they will 
mistake it for a pole.
