Minus the bourbon (sorry Mike) you have had good suggestions. I know well
what you are talking about as I live on the IL/WI border here in Kenosha.
Mari's suggestions are good ones. You have to watch the medications you
use especially if you have some other conditions. I can only use mucinex
and vapor rub because most other suggestions doctors give interfere with my
seizure meds and make you pretty dizzy. You can buy generic Claritin at
Walgreens that works great. I can't recall if you are in a apartment or
dorm Alyssa but steam heat like Mari said plus vapor rub helps a lot for
colds. You can also buy saline nose spray that clears out the sinus
cavities. That works too. It depends on what is really blocking where. I
have three canes and when I go out I chose depending on the weather. I have
an NFB cane which doesn't support a dizzy person at all and then I have two
ambutech canes. They are both folding but one has the rolling marshmallow
tip and the other has the regular cane tip. The ambutech ones seem to be
better if you feel that crummy. I have more sight than you so maybe the
roller one wouldn't be good because it doesn't give echolocation info as
well. With the snow gone it will be of better help them before. Just wanted
to be of help if I could. Drinking teas and other warm things will help
flush out the yuck and keep your body hydrated. That helps keep you
healthy anyhow. Stay away from soda and energy drinks which are not giving
you things your body needs. Plan for extra sleep. Be patient. Spring is
nearly here and you'll have to handle humidity instead! My ears are
feeling weird and I've had sinus headaches too. if nothing else, Advil
works for me.
