Keep in mind that the iPhone and the Mac are not exactly the same. With each update Apple is trying to integrate the two operating systems, but there are still major differences in how they work. As a college student who might not have time to learn a new OS, I would suggest sticking with the PC. Indeed, both academia and the business world still largely use Windows. Perhaps you could investigate the Mac after graduation when you have a little more time to experiment with it without having to balance schoolwork as well.
