[Blindtlk] cane advice

I've had the same problem with the telescopic canes and don't appreciate the
fact it collapses in the middle of a street or when you are in a hurry. I
use a folding cane too with a rolling marshmallow tip most of the time. I
think it's Ambutech, but I am not sure since it's been a while since I
replaced it. In winter--and I'm in WI--I found the free straight NFB carbon
cane with the metal tip worked best for plowing through snow and safer on
icy sidewalks than the usual folding cane and any other tip. That's just
me. Glad you are seeking advice. I never knew there were different tips
and kind of canes until I was out of college. Had I known more, I would
have actually carried it many years earlier. I hated how the one I had
stuck in sidewalk cracks and jambed into my guts. That ended use for about
20 years! Being a partial nobody forced the cane on me until I decided it
wasn't safe anymore and there were easier ways to adapt to no depth
perception. There are a lot of things I thought I knew at 12 when I got my
first cane that I apparently didn't!
Good luck on your quest for the best cane for you.
