[Blindtlk] Unsolicited prayers

Good morning everyone,

Those who engage in this kind of prayer worship would do well to study
the miracles of Jesus more closely. It shouldn't automatically be assumed
that all blind people should receive their sight. One is tempted to ask "If
being blind is such a terrible thing why would a loving God send us in to
this World in this condition?" If you study the miracle of the blind man in
John Chapter 9 you will observe that Jesus left himself options. The
scripture says that "This man is blind that I may restore his sight?" No it
says "This man is blind that the works of God may be manifest in him." Jesus
could have done something completely unexpected to bless this man is some
way. Although in the end he restored his sighted he could have thought it
more important for this blind man to have greater independence although the
Bible indicates that he already had a degree of independence. Since Jesus
told him to wash in the Pool of Sailem after putting clay on his face it's
clear that though primitive by today's standards this man was able to travel
with a certain degree of independence. Since Jesus already knew something
about this man's capabilities he could have given him the gift of being able
to read by inspiring him to develop a form of Braille.

The long story short it shouldn't automatically be assumed that all
blind people desire to have their sight restored. Having both of us working
is a far more important priority than receiving normal vision. Common sense
would tell you that unemployment doesn't go away with sight restoration.
There are far more sighted persons unemployed than blind persons simply by
sheer numbers.

What many Christians don't understand is that God can use us just as we
are and that he could use them to help meet our needs. For example that
individual that wants to lay their hands on you may be a company president.
God could just as easily use them to provide jobs for blind individuals
needing work. Countless blind individuals have become members of church
choirs, preachers, and are involved in other areas of their faith
communities. He can use us just as we are. And since God knows all things he
knows that giving sight to all the blind is not always the answer. All the
best for a blessed day and a great national convention.
