You should listen to one of Dr Jernigan's speeches on the nfb.org about knowing what independent to you. Which may not be the same for everyone I always get help at buffets with either staff or family no shame in it

I agree totally with what you last said Lauren. It's ok to ask for
help--make it a partnership between you and the staff. Don't be arrogant
blind dude and do it all yourself. Not every situation makes it possible.
When I'm tired I don't care how I get food, I just don't want to cook it.
Can you tell I'm a cat person Lauren? I have two snuggly furballs. One is
13 and the other is 10. They're better behaved than most kids.
