[Blindtlk] Putting reflective tape on my cane?

I have reflective tape on my cane, it came with it automatically. I
would probably have forgotten to put it on otherwise, but I don't think
it's a bad thing. It's not like a big sign saying, watch out, i'm blind
and you might break me. It's very discrete in the sense that it could
potentially make you safer depending on the situation but isn't putting
on a big show.
I also have a reflective sleeve on my guide dog harness, and the strap
around the front of the harness also has a reflective piece on it.
Again, it was automatically issued with the equipment here, but I don't
find it to be a problem.
Yes, I agree that your ability to judge traffic is the most important
factor here, because if you can't then reflective material won't save
you. However many people, sighted or not have reflective material on
their backpacks, or other things they are wearing. I wouldn't do it
because i'm blind, but because it's a matter of personal safety regardless.
