[Blindtlk] Paying Drivers? How to figure

There are indeed those who will not take payment.  When I was in Florida, 
there were people from my church who I got to be real good friends with who 
would not only bring me to church but to and from choir practice, and 
absolutely refused to take any payment.  I don't think they were insulted, 
they were appreciative that I offered, but they just did it out of kindness. 
There were a lot of good people like that at my Florida church.  Now, I have 
a neighbor who brings me to do errands, and she and her husband accept gas 
money and I will take them to breakfast or lunch, but they are more than 
fair.  They charge me $10 to take me shopping in town, and whatever else I 
have to do in town, the charge stays the same.  now, if I have to go further 
afield, like to the airport in Presque Isle, they will charge me more, but 
again, they go above and beyond and they are more than reasonable.

There are those who will not take payment. I have a friend whom I pay 
whenever I can. I often pay them way more than they really want to accept; 
then the next time I am riding with them, they won't take payment. And as 
many have pointed out, there are many ways you can pay. There is someone 
here whom I know who was paying a ride to chapter meetings by washing the 
car a couple of times a year for them and maybe a couple of other things, 
too.
