[Blindtlk] Fixing things with glue or rubber cement

Hi all,
The sole of my shoe started to separate today, prompting this
question. As a blind person, if you need to use a substance like
SuperGlue or rubber cement to patch something, how do you apply it and
know if you're using the right amount without touching the area and
potentially getting glue all over your fingers? I'd like to avoid an
unfortunate mishap.... Thanks for any wisdom!
