[BlindTlk] online pdf converters

I was hoping to keep the document accessible. The ocr, when it works with 2019, takes the accessibility out of it. I can open the book with the right mouse button and selecting the ocr option.
Insert space bar seems not to work in 2019 very affectively.
I can also print it out with freedom import printer, and use th elauch feature with open book to convert it to word, but again, the accessibility features disappear so the book can't be used as well.
I was hoping to get around needing acrobat pro, but I might just have to buy that.

Hello Justin,
Yes. There are many PDF converters out there, but if you are running JAWS version 18 and above, you have the functionality of the OCR Optical Character Recognition software installed within it. When I use JAWS, the only thing I do is set focus on the PDF file I need to open, and selecting it but instead of hitting Enter to open, I press Insert+Space, then O to get to the OCR menu, and then F to scan the file. JAWS will start recognising it immediately and reading it. This is especially useful if the PDF in question is an image of text, and not actual text in the file.
Not a JAWS user? Try this web page.

This site is an accessibility converter that will do all kinds of files, but you can actually input PDF files into it, and convert them to .TXT, .DOC, and even .HTM.
Hope this helps.
Humberto
