[BlindTlk] Does anyone have experience with bulb bus stops?

Hello,
My husband and I are on the Skagit Transit Community Advisory Council.
In a couple of weeks, we will all be traveling down to Everett, Washington
to view their bulb bus stops set up.
As I understand it, the bulb is just that, a jut-out bulb directly from the
curb, where the buss would stop. This allows the bus to not have to pull
out of a lane of traffic in order to pick up passengers.
I asked about the bus blocking traffic in that lane, and about possible
future driver complaints, but was told there is another lane of traffic cars
could pull into on a 4-lane street.
My big question is if this is something that could evolve into implementing
floating bus stops in future.
Do you all have any experience, pros or cons you can share regarding bulb
bus stops?
Skagit County has neither, and is not planning on implementing any floating
stops, thank heavens, but want to get feedback from others around the
country on the bulb stops.
Thanks, all, for your input and suggestions.
Judy
