[BlindTlk] Taking the plunge on a new TV!

Hi Jim,

I just got an LG tv this summer, and is totally accessible with voice guide.

One thing I do is I cast from my phone to the TV, and that is my favorite
way of watching. Once you cast the video to the TV, you can close out from
your phone and go about your phone business, while your TV is playing your
selection.

I got my TV for around $89 at Best Buy, it is a 32-inch.

Chris and I stream everything, have done for years, and quit paying for
cable or satellite a long time ago.

If you want your local TV without the Cable or satellite, try to get the
Clear TV Antenna. I think they only run about $19.95. Sorry I don't have a
phone number for it, but you can probably Google the site.

Another note, Samsung TVs are also totally accessible, same with the Android
TV.

And, yes, you can still set up your TV itself to access the services you
want.

Subject: [BlindTlk] Taking the plunge on a new TV!

Greetings,

I've been wanting to do this for a couple of years, but I think it is
finally time.

I'm looking for a good TV that is accessible to a blind person, in other
words, one that has some voice guidance features.

I'm probably going to get rid of my Dish Network, so I want one that can
support apps like Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services, while still
allowing me to watch local channels and maybe also hook up an Apple TV to
it.

I'm probably going to look at Best Buy as my first option, since I can get
the Geeks to actually come set it up, which would be great.

Finally, I may subscribe to YouTube TV, but I'm not sure yet.

All of this has to be cheaper than what I'm paying Dish right now.

I'll be wanting a 40 inch TV, as that will fit my living room.

Oh, I also have an older Bose system that could connect to the TV, if the TV
will allow.

What do people have right now, and what are good brands? The last TV I
bought was in 2009, and it is a Sony, but no accessibility features. Thanks
for your feedback.

Jim
