If your friend has some basic computer skills you could teach her how to use the training modules which can be played in FS Reader. If she is totally new to computers but has a Daisy book player like a Victor Stream or the NLS digital player you could copy these modules onto a thumb drive and send it to her. You can download them at no cost<https://www.freedomscientific.com/training/jaws/getting-started/> from the Freedom Scientific Web site.

While not free you can purchase textbooks from Assistive Technology Institute.<https://www.blind.training/textbooks-for-the-blind-and-visually-impaired/screen-reader-textbooks-for-the-blind-and-visually-impaired/> I only see textbooks covering JAWS 2019 and earlier, however.

I also recommend Mystic Access for phone training. Their trainers are excellent and their rates are reasonable.

Are you looking for something free or are you looking for something like a paid service. It does matter. Mystic access has a cost but they do it by phone from what I understand. I know here in Wisconsin we have a couple of places and I do know that the Wisconsin Council of the blind tech trainer does do it over the phone. I think you have to be a state resident but I’m not sure. This isn’t free either but probably cheaper. Looking forward to seeing how others respond. I know the pickle your friend is in! I’m thankful for the council.
