[BlindTlk] What happens to people that are born blind when they become adults? I need to be this specific.

I wasn't "born blind". I was premature and received too much oxygen, so, have been blind since birth. I attended public school. I live on Long Island and when I attended school, they had just started mainstreaming. I got a job working for town government. I got it on my own, not through our commission for the blind. Part of the reason why some blind people don't work is due to lack of transportation. I was lucky enough to be able to walk to and from my job.

Are there some that are just blind that are in day programs, or group homes? Even though I know the ideaeven though I know the idea for people that are blind is for employment, or community lives but is this what happens for most, or is this the exception?
