Hi, Jack, Yeah, I use my fork to scope out a proper bite size, then plant it tines down, and use my knife to cut off that bite. Then drag it slightly away from the cut to make sure I have it separated before lifting the fork. I've actually seen this method called the "cut and drag" methodeaahaha.

I also like to eat some of the other foods surrounding the meat first, so I have that little bit of room to drag my bite away from the cut in order to eat.

 Hey there Judy! That is what I do myself! Not elegant but it works and that's what we after down "hereffAnything to make life just a little easier you know??  Now what gives me fits are those big old tough as LEATHER pieces of MEAT That you need a chainsaw to get through! but that's a whole other topic!

Maybe not the perfect way, but I cut it with a knife and yk, several times across a portion of it closest to me on the plate. If my fork lifts too big a bite an inch or two from the plate, I attack that bit again with the knife until I get propper amount on the fork. The idea is not to overload the fork. Like Jude, I also try the twirl method mother, with the stringy pasta, but the idea is to eat gracefully by not overloading the fork, with whatever you're trying to eat.
