[BlindTlk] Windows Computer and Installing NVDA

So I'm not that familiar with Windows anymore because I've used Macs exclusively for the last 11 years.
But, I'm in need of a windows computer. Three reasons: (1) I miss the old accessible games I used to play on Windows; (2) for my bookkeeping business I might need to install QuickBooks for Desktop to do conversions to QuickBooks online for my clients; and (3) there's a chess application only made for Windows I want to use.
But I know like nothing about Windows now. I used to use JAWS but thought the cheapest option would be to use NVDA. But can I set this up accessibly or would I need sighted assistance? What's the process of setting it up?
And anything I need to know for getting the right computer? I see a lot with touch screens which I'm assuming I should avoid.
Thanks,
Brandon
