[BlindTlk] email list recommendations

Hi, Madison,

iPhones aren't the only accessible phones out there. All the Android ones
are as well, and they use TalkBack instead of VoiceOver. You have lots of
choices in devices, models and makes, that all work and are accessible. The
big players in the Android arena are Samsung and Google's Pixel devices.
However, there is ZTE, Xperia, OnePlus, and so many more, and I'm sure I
don't know them all.

One attractive thing about Android phones is that many can be had much
cheaper than the flagships, but with same specs, and years of updates.

I currently have Samsung's A53 I bought for $469, not a flagship but pretty
close to the same specs.

The least expensive phone I bought years ago was for $89. It was small,
totally accessible, and I loved it, a ZTE Avail 2.

A mythbuster is that you don't have to be a Geek to use Android, it is for
anyone. The plus is that, if you want to, it is very customizable. You can
use your phone as is, or if there is a feature or app you don't like, you
can replace it with another, and mostly for no charge, through downloading
from the play store.

Apple's iPhone is a good device as well, but that isn't your only choice for
a blind person.

Subject: [BlindTlk] email list recommendations

Hi all,
Not sure if I'll ever get one but given how accessible iPhones are for
visually impaired I suspect that people will continue to push me to get one.
If I ever do are there any email lists for blind iPhone users that any of
you recommend? If so can you please provide me with the subscription address
(s)? I'll keep them for future reference. I know that such questions can be
asked on general tech lists but when it's related to something specific then
I much prefer posting to a list specific to that product/OS. Thanks for any
info that any of you can provide me!!
Madison
