Employment got mentioned in this thread and as such, corporates are going
to have input into whatever equipment gets used on their sites and to
connect to their networks and the input they're going to have will come
from the security office.  For that reason, phones that have end of life
dates two years after release dates that's most of the android
manufacturers are not going to fly with security.  In America at least and
I realize this list is international, that limits any android users to
google and samsung and be careful about model of samsung.  Canada may be
able to get other phones like the one plus I think that does longer life
cycles but so far as I know that's how Android is limited.  So anyone
considering a cell phone purchase needs to learn the release date and the
end of life date of the brand and model of phone before spending money on
that phone  if end of life has already passed, it's safe to say no matter
what happens on the internet and to your phone you're not getting any
manufacturer security or software updates for it.
