I open mine with a steak knife. First I slide it on the short ends, cutting the tape there. Then I feel the cut ends, and use the knife to cut against the length of the box, cutting the tape. With care and practice, it's easy to do. I am totally blind and have been doing it this way all my adult life, as I've lived on my own since I was 18. You can learn to do this. My sighted sister uses scissors, and maybe you'd find that easier.

Hi all,
Whenever I get a delivery and I'm home alone I always have to wait for someone to get home to open it and this gets rather frustrating as I don't always know how long I'll have to wait and I'd love to be able to open my own packages just like everyone else. So does anyone have any suggestions/tips for how to do this safely? Look forward to reading whatever anyone has to say!! Thanks Madison
