You might try this.

1.  Position the bowl near the edge of the table so that the milk can be positioned right over the edge of the table.  

2.  Now. this allows you to place the mouth of the jug right on the edge of the bowl so you can pour and be sure to get it right every time.  You know how much milk you want in the bowl so you can place a finger at that point in the bowl more easily too.  Now pour and enjoy.
