Hello,
There are several options for keeping socks with their companions...The NFB Independence Market, Amazon probably and other blindness orgs sell little plastic things that you put your socks through to hold them together. If you want to do something immediately, get some rubber bands, and put them around a pear of socks. They only time you take them out of the rubber bands is when you wear them. In other words, Keep the bands and your socks in the same drawer or basket you can put them back in the rubber band the minute you take them. No taking off socks and shoes and flinging them under the bed, like my kids often did. 🤣Getting different sizes and/or thicknesses of bands will help when the socks are of varying thicknesses. One more thought...I have heard of late that young people think it's cool to wear mis matched socks. Just a thought there. You might check that out with your sighted buddies!
Happy sock matching!
Bonnie

Subject: [BlindTlk] getting/keeping socks matched up..
Hi all,
I'm sure this happens to everyone: you put all of your laundry away but then you find a sock (s) that gotten forgotten in the dryer or fell on the floor so even though I've put all of my socks away there will likely be mismatches (Dad has mentioned to me more then once that I'm wearing two different colour socks). Is there anything I can do to insure that my socks match and stay matched up while laundry is being done? I know there are braille clothing tags but don't they have to go on a tag inside of the article of clothing. Before anyone asks almost all of my socks feel basically the same so there's no real way for me to tell them apart. Look forward to reading any suggestions that anyone has!!
Madison
