What is on that Verizon box? Lots of different cable types are available on Amazon these days I could have connected with an usb to Ethernet cable if I had one but don’t know if they’re available yet. Worth researching since if one cable gets damaged a backup would be on hand.

My old cable boxes from Optimum had RCA jacks on them, so I used to hook them up to the stereo systems.  But I don't see any RCA jacks on this Verizon box that I got in 2018 when I moved here.  It's a bummer!  Pam.

If living alone and you have a cable box with RCA plugs on it you can buy a sound bar with line in capability and attach to your cable box. Turning the sound bar on and switching to line in mode gets you all of the sound put out by TV channels and no pictures. But if living alone and totally blind, we don’t need no stinkin’ pictures.  Sound bars are in the $50.00 range so lots less expensive than TV sets whether accessible or not. Another effect data gatherers are going to hate is no pixels from your address to harvest and sell to the annoyance economy since no screen, no pixels.
