At the least perhaps you can get a program, with a website, mentorship,
job/ employment training, starting a business, and a system where a
visually impaired veteran, or blinded veteran is able to have a
coordinated program that supports his/ her needs, as well as all family
members , with a support system that maps out the goals of the program for
both the veterans and all who are part of his support network , through
the next 20 year period of life, as he/ she loses additional eyesight,
mobility, cognitive skills, etc.
Go for it, integrate the old veteran with the new veterans, as well as old
and new rehabilitation programs. Perhaps VA Blind Rehab, VIST, BROS,
and the Departmett of Rehab., Labor, Education, VA Compensated Work
Therapy, DoD/ VA Federal Recovery Coordinators, communicate openly,et all.
Outstanding, Bravo Zulu, well done, don't listened to the naysayers.
Good Luck! Bill
