A word to the wise, icicles look harmless sitting there on your tree, but let me share a story about  my cousin when he was a toddler.
He somehow took one of those shiny icicles and stuffed it up his nose.  Well, it stayed up there for several weeks until it was really a mess and he was really sick.  He never complained though, and the reason my aunt knew something was up, it started to smell really bad.
