I believe I got them all from National Braille Press. They send me a buy
from list every few months and I have ordered each time. They always send
one for Christmas, like buy 3 get one free. V

Where do you find so many choices, Veronica? I only bought a few this time
because I'm not sure how much I can engage Deven in reading yet. I love
Green Eggs and Ham, I have The Polar Express and Cloudy with a Chance of
Meatballs. We saw that movie with Deven, and I thought the book would be not
only more exciting to me because the movie was so visual, but also a chance
for Deven to understand that movies often start with a book.
He is reading at about a third or fourth grade level and was held back in
school once, which puts him in 4th grade. But I think with more attention,
and finding ways to keep his interest, well I hope that is, perhaps he would
enjoy reading more. But just because I loved to read, that doesn't mean
every kid will.
I was an advanced reader starting in elementary school, but it makes a huge
difference when you love to read, wouldn't you agree? Books open up a whole
new world, and I so want the same for him. But that isn't something I can
control if he doesn't like to read.

Which books did you get. Of course, my favorite is Green Eggs and Ham.
Another favorite I have is, "I love you, blue Kangaroo." I take this book
to my presentations on blindness. The kids seem to love it. Others I have
are click, clack Moo, Cows go to Paris, Itzie, bitzie Spider, Mole Music,
Joan of Arc, Mrs. Nelson is missing, Henry and Mudge, Six sandy Sheep, Just
Go to bed, Knots on a string, Looking out for Sarah, Froggie's first Kiss,
just to mention about half of our collection.

I just got some of these a couple of days ago and they're really cool! I
think for Deven and I, these will work better than the print written below
the braille.
He also has some of the same books I bought in print, so maybe we'll be able
to practice some reading and hang out at the same time.
