[blparent] blparent Digest, Vol 57, Issue 10

I've been hit twice. Once was totally my fault -- crossing a highway (U.S
41) in a big hurry in a rainstorm -- the sound of the tires on wet pavement
distorted my perception of time and distance. My fault because only a total
fool would have attempted to cross that intersection in those conditions.
At the last instant, I knew the guy was going to hit me, and I jumped to the
side. The glancing impact threw me into a snowbank, and I was not hurt at
all, not even a bruise. I shook for the next two hours.
