[blparent] Has anyone used UPromise.com?

Jo Elizabeth,

Some of that would depend on how responsible you are with credit cards. If
you carry a balance, and don't pay them off, you will not be accumulating
very much. If your one of those that use 1 card for all your bills and pay
it off monthly, it could help out a little. I read somewhere when my oldest
daughter, who is 33 months old, goes to college, one year will run about
34,000 a year on an average.

Then you got to look and see if they pay you interest on what you put in
there, if they do not, you will be actually losing money. Then what happens
if 10 years from now, God for bid, something bad happens and you need that
money, can you get it out?

With the cheap stocks, right now is a great time to start investing. You
can have great returns when the market turns around.

Hi, all. I heard about a program today called UPromise.com that rewards a
person with savings toward college for making purchases from member
companies. The web site is pretty accessible, and the gist of the program
seems sound--you register your credit card, then when you buy from member
companies, they contribute cash (usually one to eight percent of the
purchase price) toward your college savings account. i heard about the site
from someone who is in the business of financial planning, and with college
so expensive, it seems like it might be a good idea to sign up and start
saving for Sarah, even though she's only a year old. I was wondering if any
of you have used the service, and if so, have you found it reliable and
worthwhile?

Thanks,
Jo Elizabeth
