You may also want to look into Netflix. It doesn't let you watch
programs live, but you can get any number of DVD's, and the site is
accessable.
It isn't clear to me if you are okay with content but not with
commercials? If the commercials are the problem, why not just deal with
them when they come up?
Alternatively, you guys can go watch sports in your community, many
communities have baseball, soccer, football and I'm sure others. That
can be a nice way to spend an afternoon/evening.

If your watching TV live, you can not skip over the commercials, you
have to watch a recorded program, or have had the program paused.
We have the Dish Network DVR, and I am unable to use it for watching
pre-recorded programs, or set it to record something, but I can use the
pause, rewind. and fast forward features.

I haven't seen a bad commercial, but I have seen shows on prime time TV
I wouldn't want my kid watching.

My husband and I are thinking we need to look at some kind of Tivo or
DVR setup so when we watch sporting events or even regular TV, we can
skip or fast forward thru the commercials because they are often pretty
bad, especially during games, etc. Our son is 4 and likes to watch
sports with us
- but the commercials aren't so good!

Do any of you have a Tivo or DVR setup that works OK without seeing,
etc.
etc.?

Thanks,
Kjirsten
