I don't agree.  I am blind and my daughter never acted this way.  All
children need to grow up to be respectful.   You have to gain their respect
at a young age not assume that when they get older they will grow out of the
nastiness.  It doesn't work that way.  If a nasty child when young then a
nasty adult. V

it isn't an attention thing its a I'm a little kid and I got something  
to use to my advantage thing.

give it time, like a couple of years time.
