Yes they weed out calls that are not sounding legit.

They ask questions that you have to answer with a certain amount of knowledge for it to be valid.  You can’t just call and say the blind woman is in the pool with an infant and I feel it is dangerous because I can see.  You also even if what is said is true, can not call and give information you were given from a second or third party person.  Most of the time if they appear on your door step it is because they could give adequate information that may be a red flag.  If some one calls and says this blind woman has her baby in the pool and the baby keeps slipping underwater they may call to set up a time to meat with you to see if there is abuse or if you were just teaching a toddler to swim.

Also, there is a difference if some one calls DCF and states that your kid was dressed in stained clothing or if your child has no clothing.  Trust me you will no a neglected kid when you see it.  It looks different then you may think and stressing out doesn’t help your case of being a fit parent.  Also, I said fit, not good.
