[blparent] Summer- right around the corner

See, that's what I said, everyone needs a break. Whether a babysitter a
couple hours a day or a couple of hours a week. V

If I can ask, why don't you want to put her in daycare?
To me, daycare is one of the best things going.
They have lots of staff at least the good ones do, they have a lot of
activities, and you get to do work without needing to plan and/or carry
out activities.
To me, I'd gladly pay for daycare and view it as a great trade-off for
the ability to work without stressing over both a child and a job.
You certainly want to do your homework, but good daycares are indeed out
there.
I'd be happy to talk more with you off-list.
And, if I can ask, where is Papa Bear in all this? I say this only
because assumming you aren't a single parent, your emotional health and
the child's emotional health as well as physical safety should be his
concern.
My husband says that trying to work and take care of a child at the same
time, is akin to being drunk and taking care of a child because you
can't put your focus on either task well. I think he's right.

I checked into MOPS, but it's pretty pricey because you pay for the
child care. I might look into it further, but at this point I think
I'll spend the money on having a teenager come into my home two or three
mornings a week, if I can find one over the summer. That way I'll be
here if the need comes up, but I can work and someone else can entertain
Sarah a little.
It's getting too hard to manage working and looking after her, now that
she's getting older and wanting a lot more interaction. But I don't
want to put her in day care, so at least short term, a hired big bro or
sis playmate might just be the answer for me.
