Yeah I think ours is that brand too. Get one, and if you don't like it,
baby stores will let you take it back. 
How, when and where you use it is all personal preference, we use ours
in the basement and if we're out on the deck. I find I don't need it
when we're on the main floor of the house given the way sound carries in
our house.

I think mine is Fisher Price as well.  I keep one receiver on my desk 
downstairs and one beside my bed upstairs.  You can shell out a lot of
money 
for expensive monitors, but sound quality is really all that matters.  I
do 
recommend that you get one with at least a couple of channels you can
change 
to, so that if one channel isn't coming in clearly, you can try another.
