We used to live in New Brunswick not Alberta but, I did live out west as a
child. My father was Air Force so we moved all the time when we were
growing, that's probably why I hate moving so much. Culturally there is a
big difference, things are much slower pace in NS. and it's a different type
of ministry we are doing here. I moncton we worked at a street monistry
where we dealt with mostly addicts and single moms. There was an overnight
shelter, a recovery center, 3 safe houses for men and women and 4 apartment
buildings for families. Very emotionally draining and we lived where we
worked, in that type of ministry you really need to know your meant for it
or you get real tired real fast. We were there for 7 years. Now my husband
facilitates a ministry school to equip people for this kind of thing. My
son's birth mother was one of the residents at the shelter. I prefer the
slower less demanding life here in NS. Moncton was very hard on my nerves.
We still maintain contact with many there but, here is a much better place
for my son to grow. I'ts beautiful in NS. especially the cape Breton high
lands. the bright colors in the fall are amazing. I'm the opposite, I can
see myself visiting the west but, I'll live in the east any day. The worst
thing about moving is the address canging and things like that and NB, had
much more to offer in support for blind people. Moving within a province
ins't so bad but, moving between provinces sucks.
