[blparent] Carseats for children 1 year-old or older?

Hi Miranda,
The sit 'n stroll isn't hard to turn once you get used to it. It also only
weighs 18 lbs, and I can convert it with my 2 year old daughter sitting in
it. I'm only 5 ft tall and 115 lbs myself. Now if you have a bad back or
some other problem that would make it more difficult, then it might not be
your best option, but then carrying a car seat everywhere really wouldn't be
much better in that case. For taking the bus, I carry my child in a baby
carrier strapped to me. I don't take a stroller on the bus, because by law
you have to break it down every time anyway.
My church gave me a shower when I had Kaelyn. They've also done it for
families who adopt, so maybe your church will do that for you. Children are
expensive, and they require a lot of stuff. Some are just conveniences, but
things like a car seat are essential, and when you're blind and don't drive,
you have to go with what is going to meet your needs. That sometimes means
spending more than you would otherwise.
Leanne
