Oh, that reminded me of something else. When Gab was about 8 months my
mother-in-law opened a bottle of meds in front of her. Well, don't you know
it, it took Gab less than 10 minutes to open that bottle again. You know it
was one of those bottles with a thing you press down and the lid opens. I
believe it suppose to be a safety lid for people with bad hands. V

I would advise not letting the little one watch you put the outlet covers
in. My mother in law had the bright idea we needed them, and she proceeded
to buy them and install them. Sadie, at the time was about 18 months, and
she did not touch the outlets once until she saw grandma installing these
neat things. It took a while to break her from playing with them.

They make safety outlets now to, and I think in the U.S. they are required
in all new homes. There is a little piece inside each slot, and both pieces
have to be pushed against at once for them to open and allow the plug to
slide in. So if the little one tries to put a key in one slot, it won't go
in and make contact. Any big box store will have them, if someone would
rather go this route.

Even if you had the money, don't waste it there. Just common sense is
needed. You don't need to do anythihg until your child is mobile, able to
stand or crawl. Then a must is cover those outlets. You can buy outlet
covers just about anywhere and keep them covered unless you need that spot.
Baby proof as your child grows. No glass that can break when grabbed, no
sharp things to play with, no little papers and toys to eat, no cords to
pull or chew. No curtains that they can tie around neck, no pictures to
fall off the wall on the heads.
Don't worry about it until you have to. V

Hi,
We're gathering information on what we can do to baby/childproof our home.
We're looking for information for children between 0-3 years of age.
Since we don't have the $300.00 or more for a babyproofing expert to come
and evaluate our home, we're wondering if any of you have any tips and
experiences of what does or doesn't work?
Thanks in advance, and have a great day!

In Christ, Miranda
